Can I use Base Plus under hard gel?

Yes. Base Plus is the foundation layer for hard gel applications. Apply the full adhesion system (PREP, SALT Acid Primer, Optima UV Primer, Base Plus) for maximum adhesion and fillable maintenance.

Can I use Base Plus under Re-Cover Plus?

Yes. Base Plus is the foundation layer before Re-Cover Plus application. The adhesion system goes PREP, primer selection, Base Plus, then Re-Cover Plus on top.

Do I need primer with Base Plus?

PREP is always required. Primer is optional depending on how long you want the service to last and how you plan to remove it. Without primer, Base Plus soaks off fastest. With Optima UV Primer on the free edge, soak-off takes slightly longer but durability improves. With Optima on the entire nail, maximum wear. With SALT Acid Primer plus Optima, the application becomes fillable and will not soak off.

Can I fill over Base Plus instead of removing it?

Yes, if SALT Acid Primer was used during application. SALT creates a permanent bond that does not dissolve in acetone. File during fill appointments to thin and rebalance, then add fresh product. If Optima UV Primer was used without SALT, the application is designed for soak-off removal, not fills.

How long does Base Plus last?

Standard fill schedule is every 3 to 5 weeks. The product lasts until the next fill. Regrowth creates mechanical imbalance at the cuticle area that leads to lifting at the proximal end. The product does not break down. Variables that affect wear are tech technique, client nail plate condition, proper prep, and proper cure with the Pro Arch Rival Nail Lamp.

Does Base Plus cause heat spikes?

Base Plus is formulated for low heat curing. When applied in thin layers and cured under the Pro Arch Rival Nail Lamp, heat spikes should not occur. Thicker application generates more heat during cure regardless of formula. For clients with thin or sensitive nail plates, apply thinner layers.

What is the difference between rubber base and builder gel?

What happens if I skip base coat?

The base coat is the only layer that touches the natural nail plate. If it does not adhere properly, nothing above it will hold. Gel polish, structure gel, and hard gel are not formulated for direct nail plate adhesion. They are formulated to bond to the cured base coat underneath. Skipping base coat results in lifting regardless of how well the rest of the application is done.

Why does my base coat lift at the cuticle?

Product touching the cuticle or sidewall skin during application is the most common cause. Uncured gel on skin cannot bond and creates a weak point that peels back. Over-filing the nail surface past the upper bondable layer exposes unstable cells that cannot hold product. Is Base Plus vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes. The Base Plus formula contains no animal-derived ingredients, and the product is not tested on animals at any stage. Animal-derived ingredients are rarely used in nail products.
